It cannot be by chance that the oldest boat in our fleet is also the one which is most used and which we have subsequently bought two more of since the delivery of our first one ten years ago. Our 7.8m Ballistics offer a very comfortable and dry ride, fantastic versatility and have stood up to being the workhorses of the Necker Island fleet with unparalleled success. We highly recommend them.

Since purchasing a 6.5m Ballistic 3 years ago RIBs have literally transformed our weekends: They are just so practical and affordable. If you know little of boats then JBT are a great start as, with a full induction and RYA course qualification, we were well on our way. To the uninitiated RIBs and Ballistics in particular are a superb way to unwind and, whether it's flat calm on Boxing Day or a midsummer evening, quite exhilarating.

Having got the bug we upgraded 2 years ago to Apollo, a 7.8m Ballistic: more space, more power and still easily towable. Last summer saw us towing her on a leisurely drive down to the Mediterranean - best family holiday we've ever had, with pictures to prove it. Every day was spent out on the boat (best way to get around), mooring in deserted coves, snorkelling in azure blue bays and chilling in the evening watching the fireworks in Cannes harbour.

Destinations this year? Back to the Med of course, as well as weekends here in the Solent, England's own Riviera. So thanks to all at JBT, for our inductions, superb back-up, advice and for literally putting smiles on our faces every Friday in anticipation of the weekend ahead!

I have been boating for a number of years with various cruisers over 40 ft, but my family and I wanted to try something more exciting and decided that a RIB was the way to go. I went to several RIB suppliers and brokers but I found Jason's no nonsense approach refreshing, with no high handed pressure sell. I decided on a Ballistic RIB as the write-ups sounded impressive, after sea trialling both the 6.5m and the 7.8m versions I wasn't disappointed! I settled on the 7.8m with a 250hp Evinrude as the ride felt better to me and would be more comfortable for the whole family. Jason even modified the bench seat to accommodate my daughter with special needs. Justin ran the Power Boat Level 2 course which he made great fun and very useful, navigating at 50 knots is a whole new experience! Beverley offers a great after-sales service and seems to keep the boys in line, which is no mean feat!

I can't say enough about this RIB, I have been in some moderate/rough seas already and the old adage 'you will give up before the RIB does' really applies with this RIB, she just loves the rougher weather; I am amazed at the performance and handling, particularly of the Evinrude engine, it’s a monster but so easy to handle around the marina and such great fun in open water! I feel very safe taking out the whole family and if we get caught out in difficult seas, bar me being stupid, I feel confident she will get us home safely.

We bought a Ballistic 5.5m RIB in March 2006 from JBT. We have had fantastic fun on the Solent visiting beaches and marinas. Early this year the RIB developed a fault with the petrol tank. JBT investigated and identified the cause of the fault. Because of the inconvenience, they replaced our boat with a 2007 model at no expense to us. For us, JBT kept to the word of their 'Customer Charter' - their after-sales support is excellent. We have had a great summer using a great RIB.

My husband Atty was born in a boat – he loved them and up until five/six years ago owned a hard hulled vessel. Atty began his hunt for the ‘perfect RIB’ two years before we found JBT marine. Jason at JBT talked us through our requirements in great detail, listened, and then walked us round the vast boatyard presenting only those that fitted the brief. We were both incredibly impressed by Jason’s knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm. What a nice guy. We ended up buying a Ballistic 5.5m and never looked back.

I became captain of ‘Baby Ballistic’ two years ago. I was a complete novice, but very keen to give it a go as my children loved the boat as much as their Daddy did. I needed BIG help and support in all aspect of maintenance and transport. Amazingly it worked out. We did it and have had two glorious summers afloat. When I say ‘we did it’, it is very much a team effort including all the boys and Louise at JBT Marine. Many, many thanks.
